Wayland Town Crier 4/6/11: School Committee chairman out in Wayland. Ellen Grieco was the only challenger to win a town office yesterday, defeating School Committee Chairman Louis Jurist by 80 votes. Grieco had 1,203 votes to Jurist's to 1,123 to win a one-year seat on the board. "I'm thrilled," Grieco said. "I'm very excited, and I'm looking forward to putting my best effort forward for the Wayland schools." School Committee members Barbara Fletcher and Beth Butler won re-election, receiving 1,274 and 1,411 votes, respectively. They defeated challenger Alexia Obar, who had 1,156 votes. Selectmen Steve Correia and Joseph Nolan also kept their seats.
