Non-Profit Spotlight: Pierce's Pantry: The Gluten-Free Food Bank

Mission: Gluten-free food is often four to six times as expensive as the regular equivalent. For patients with a medical diagnosis requiring a gluten-free diet, this can mean having to choose between hunger and health because gluten-free food is rarely available or non-existent in most pantries. Pierce's Pantry's mission is to supply emergency food relief to clients whose health depends upon a gluten-free diet.

Holiday Cheer Project

IT'S TIME ONCE AGAIN FOR THE HOLIDAY CHEER PROJECT!  The holidays are the perfect time to help a child who might otherwise not receive new clothes or toys this holiday season. For the next four weeks, Temple Shir Tikva will be distributing holiday wish lists from children who live in poverty in the Metrowest area. Individuals or families can sign up to sponsor one or more children and are asked to purchase three items from the wish list of each child they sponsor. Gift certificates are also welcome.

The deadline for requesting a wish list is December 6. All gifts will be collected at Temple Shir Tikva, 141 Boston Post Road, Wayland, MA, on Sunday, December 9 between 9 AM and 11:30 AM. Wrapping paper is always appreciated.

This is a wonderful project for families to engage in together as they celebrate the good fortune of the season. For more information, please email Mimi Facher or call her at 781-893-1978.
