Non-Profit Spotlight: Pierce's Pantry: The Gluten-Free Food Bank

Mission: Gluten-free food is often four to six times as expensive as the regular equivalent. For patients with a medical diagnosis requiring a gluten-free diet, this can mean having to choose between hunger and health because gluten-free food is rarely available or non-existent in most pantries. Pierce's Pantry's mission is to supply emergency food relief to clients whose health depends upon a gluten-free diet.

League of Women Voters of Wayland Holiday Party

Monday, December 10 at 11:30am–2pm at the home of Karen Kavet, 69 Lincoln Road.

Wayland Public Schools Update:  School Superintendent Paul Stein will bring us up-to-date on our school system: reorganization of the elementary schools, computer per student program, achievement gaps, etc. There will be time for questions.

Ticket of Admission:  Please bring one or two cans or packages of non-perishable food for the Parmenter Food Pantry (soups, stews and canned vegetables are especially welcome).
Desserts would be appreciated.  If you can bring a “finger” dessert, please email Karen.  We hope you will be able to come, meet old friends, and catch up on the exciting things happening in our schools.  We wish everyone a joyous and healthy holiday season.
