If you are 55 plus and interested in exploring how local volunteering can expand your world, SOAR 55 will provide you with a professional and personal volunteer search for an assignment that matches your skills, interests and schedule. Choose from many local volunteer opportunities: coordinate an employment program that creates sustainable career paths for economically disadvantaged individuals; help 12-14 year olds with their homework in one of the following subjects: math, language arts, science, social studies, Spanish, or French;  utilize grassroots marketing strategies and tactics to build much needed awareness and support to drive membership and volunteer drivers for an organization that provides critical transportation for seniors and the visually impaired; help children and families with early literacy training; assist military service members with areas of financial planning including budgeting, investing, improving credit and purchasing homes or help with legal issues; work one on one with pre-release inmates to prepare them for their GED (high school equivalency exam); develop or expand an organization’s volunteer program as a Volunteer Coordinator; help a senior navigate the often confusing healthcare system by accompanying them to doctor’s appointments and healthcare visits to insure they understand medical issues and follow-up instructions; plan and execute recruitment events for SOAR 55 and much more!
