Wayland Recreation Commission discusses field report

Wayland Town Crier 7/29/14: Wayland Recreation Commission discusses field report. The Recreation Commission discussed an updated version of a report aimed at new athletic field recommendations on Tuesday. The report represents a significant flip from a 2010 report by the same company, Gale Associates. While the 2010 recommendation suggested building seven baseball fields, five of which were to be 60-foot diamonds instead of the full-size 90-foot diamonds, and two multipurpose, or soccer-type, fields, the July 2014 report suggests seven full-size multipurpose fields, and only two baseball fields. Five smaller multipurpose fields are also recommended in the new report.
