SOAR 55— Your Local Resource for Volunteering

soar55At SOAR 55, we place, train, and support volunteers, age 55 and over, who want to use their skills and experience to help local non-profits and public organizations in Newton and Metro West.

With over 80 nonprofit and public partners, we can provide a professional, personalized and thoughtful search to find the right opportunity that matches your interests, values, and schedule.

Some opportunities include:  join an executive group of leaders to provide management consulting to nonprofits in need, accepting applications now for fall  training; mentor an inmate enrolled in Boston University’s “College Behind Bars” program; train this fall to become an accredited  group facilitator to lead caregiver coach classes;  train to help an at-risk child improve their reading or math skills, so critical to future success;  design and maintain social media communications and newsletters for an early childhood council; assist and empower senior adults by preparing with them for medical appointments, provide a fun and educational experience for groups visiting a cultural arts museum ; assists military service members find employment and encourage local employers to hire them; and much more!
