October is Massachusetts Archaeology Month

Arch_Month_Poster_14The Wayland Historical Commission will host its annual archaeology event on Saturday, October 18th at 2 PM. “Archaeology Squared: Adventures in Mapping” will be presented in the Large Hearing Room of the Wayland Town Building.

Alf Berry is a third generation land surveyor and a University of Maine graduate, with a wide variety of experience and interests. His archaeological heritage goes back to 1910, when his grandfather was the first surveyor in Mesa Verde National Park mapping various ruins of the Anasazi Indians. Alf will talk about his own work in Belize and Wyoming as a team surveyor and mapper of Mayan and Shoshone Indian sites.
