Library Planning Committee – Volunteers Wanted

Wayland LibraryWayland’s Board of Library Trustees is establishing a volunteer committee of 10-15 diverse community members to serve on its new Library Planning Committee. This year, Governor Deval Patrick authorized a $150 million Library Construction Grant to help Massachusetts cities and towns expand, renovate, or build new libraries.

The Library Planning Committee will examine the Library’s current location, assess the program and service needs of Wayland residents, benchmark with neighboring communities and ultimately make recommendations to the Board of Trustees whether to move ahead with a grant application. The Committee will also oversee the preliminary design process, should the process move forward.

For more information on joining the committee, including expected duration, access to past feasibility and long-range Library studies, and WFPL’s annual reports, contact Aida Gennis, Chair, Board of Library Trustees at (508) 650-3869 or email: wgs3155@gmail.com.
