Wayland Town Crier 12/18/14: Longfellow Club in Wayland goes solar. The Longfellow Clubs in Wayland and Natick has billed itself as one of the “greenest” health clubs in the country, so when it was time for the next green project, it’s no surprise that co-owners Laury Hammel and Myke Farricker went big. The Longfellow Clubs last week completed installation of a 148-kilowatt solar energy system on its Wayland facility that is expected to generate over 180,000 kilowatt-hours of solar energy annually, covering at least 21 percent of the club’s electricity needs.
