At SOAR 55, we place, train, and support volunteers, age 55 and over, who want to use their skills and experience to strengthen local non-profits and public organizations in Newton and Metro West.
With nearly 100 nonprofit and public partners, we are able to provide a professional, personalized and thoughtful search to find the right opportunity that matches your interests, values, and schedule.
Some of our opportunities include: join a group of executive leaders who work in teams to provide management consulting services to nonprofits, space is limited for fall training; help refugees prepare for their first jobs in the U.S and gain experience in teaching, tutoring and employment services, in addition to learning about local refugee/immigrant communities; train to provide fun and educational experiences to museum visitors; as a current or recently retired k-12 teacher mentor a veteran or service member interested in transitioning to a career in teaching; as a community mediator help facilitate legal disputes outside of court, training begins in September and space is limited; train this fall to help a young child improve their reading or math skills, so critical to future success, and much more!
