Update: Cato was found, and is safe and back home

UPDATE 6/27/16: Cato was found in the woods, and he’s home safe. He was entangled in the brush in his leash, and had been trapped.

UPDATE 6/22/16: Cato’s owners are still looking for him. They have learned that they can’t post their flyers on telephone poles and are seeking places they can post a sign on a stake. If they can use your address, please message them (contact info in post below). They are especially seeking addresses between Sherman Bridge Rd and Buddy Dog.  Please email them at FindingCato@gmail.com if they can post a sign on your lawn.

If you are willing to host a lawn sign, please click here to submit your address.

Cato is a new adoptee from Buddy Dog.  (His name was listed at the shelter as Cas, but he didn’t seem to recognize it, and his owners began calling him Cato). He is missing from the area of Sherman Bridge and Oxbow Rd (near Alpine field). Cato  is an 11 month old German Shepherd cross, weighs 48 pounds, and is tan with black and white markings on his paws.  His left ear stands upright, but his right ear folds over.  He got away from his young human and is dragging his leash. He is microchipped and has his collar and tags.  Cato is shy, so do not call out to him or chase him.  Call: 617-480-2446 or 508-358-9570 with any sightings.

Please share to help this boy get back home to his family.

  1. Dog may have been sighted in Sudbury yesterday morning along Goodman’s Hill Road which is close to Buddy Dog on Route 20. We’ve alerted the owner.

  2. I spotted a mostly brown, with a little black on the right side, german shepard looking dog on Rt. 126, just west of Rolling Lane, towards the HS at 12:10pm Sunday 6/19. I was driving by, in my car and didn’t see any humans near the dog, who was sniffing along the sidewalk.
