Community Update on an Expanded Wayland Library: Two Sites Selected for Further Study!

Wayland residents are invited to attend a forum that will update the community on progress made on the Library Planning and Design Study that was approved at Town Meeting last fall. Over the past few months the project’s team, led by Tappé Architects, has conducted two visioning sessions and a survey in an effort to learn what residents want to see in a new or expanded library. They have also conducted preliminary studies of the proposed sites. The two sites selected for further study are 5 Concord Road (the site of the current library) and 207-195 Main Street (the former Highway Garage site). The community forum will be held on Tuesday, July 26, at 7 p.m. in the Large Hearing Room of the Wayland Town Building. Members of the architectural team, the Board of Library Trustees, and the Library Planning Committee will be on hand to discuss preliminary concept drawings and initial cost estimates of the Study. Please attend and give us your thoughts. For more information, please contact Aida Gennis, Chair, Board of Library Trustees at wgs3155@gmail.com or Ann Knight, Director, Wayland Free Public Library at aknight@minlib.net.
