Historical Commission to hold public forum on Demolition Delay Bylaw, January 19

The Wayland Historical Commission invites Wayland residents to attend a public forum on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Large Hearing Room of the Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, to discuss a proposed Demolition Delay Bylaw to be presented at the 2017 Annual Town Meeting on April 2, 2017.

The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to preserve and protect significant buildings within Wayland that are 100 years or older, and to limit the detrimental effect of demolition on the character of the town.  By delaying a demolition permit for one year for certain historically significant resources, the proposed bylaw seeks to create a window of opportunity to come up with preservation solutions other than demolition.

All residents are invited to join the discussion.  If you have any questions, please contact Elisa Scola, Chair, Historical Commission, at cpandes@yahoo.com.
