Board of Selectmen announces Listening Meetings

The Board of Selectmen would like to invite residents to attend an informal meeting to talk about what is working and not working in town government.  While the schools are part of the town, they are not the subject of these meetings.  A standard set of questions will be discussed at each facilitator-led meeting.  They include your experience with town departments, what has worked well and what could be improved, and how town government can best communicate with you.  The comments, suggestions, and ideas gathered from each meeting will be compiled and the report will help to guide future actions the Board might take.

A number of meetings will be held over a three to four week period so you can choose to attend one that is convenient for you.  The meetings are accessible and open to the public and will last about 1 ½ hours.  However we would like to request that each meeting be attended by 10 to 15 people so that participants will have ample time to share their views.  The dates and locations are:

  • Thursday, January 26, 7pm, Wayland Public Library
  • Saturday, January 28, 10:30am, Wayland Public Library
  • Monday, January 30, 10am, Broomstone’s
  • Tuesday, January 31, 1:30pm, Bent Park (Please park on street, not in the residents’ parking spaces.)
  • Sunday, February 5, 2:30pm, Wayland Public Library
  • Wednesday, February 8, 10am, Tentative
  • Thursday, February 9, 1pm, Wayland Public Library
  • Wednesday, February 15, 7:30pm, Tentative
  • Wednesday, February 22, 1pm, Senior Center

Please let Mary Antes [508 358-2571 or email (mantes@wayland.ma.us)] know which meeting you would like to attend.  Additional meetings can be scheduled if there is interest.

The Board of Selectmen encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to communicate with your elected officials.
