Travel ban: Revision not winning over foes

Wayland Town Crier 3/6/17: Travel ban: Revision not winning over foes. Malik Khan, president of the Islamic Society of Boston in Wayland, called President Donald Trump’s revised executive order that bans travel from Muslim-majority countries an “exercise being done in error.” The order, signed on Monday, is a reworked version of an original order signed Jan. 27 that barred new visas for immigrants from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen and Libya and temporarily halted the country’s refugee program. The revised order left Iraq off of that list, no longer singles out Syrian refugees and no longer prioritizes refugees or immigrants in the religious minority, but that walking back of certain aspects doesn’t please Muslims, Khan said.
