Wayland High School A Cappella Groups Gearing up for Spring Concert

Wayland High School’s talented a cappella groups – the Muses, T-Tones and Madrigals – are hard at work preparing for the spring College A Cappella Concert on Saturday, April 1, a wonderful tradition welcoming spring to the Wayland community.

The concert will be held at WHS at 7:30pm this Saturday and will feature the Wayland High School Muses, T-Tones, and Madrigals, along with three outstanding college groups — returning favorites Berklee’s Pitch Slapped and Tufts’ Beelzebubs, and performing for the first time in Wayland — Yale’s New Blue, featuring Wayland High School alum Anna Lifland!  WHS seniors Andrea Ponce and Clare Lippincott will MC this fun spring tradition!

A cappella music features fresh arrangements of both classic and contemporary songs performed by unaccompanied singers, though vocalists sometimes emulate instruments. Having experienced a huge surge in popularity in recent years, a cappella attracts the most talented singers on high school and college campuses nationwide.

Priced at $18, tickets are available now at Donelan’s, Russell’s Garden Center, and online at the WHS CAPA website. Tickets to these concerts frequently sell-out, so purchase early to guarantee a seat! You can find pictures, videos, and additional information on the concert’s Facebook page, and on the CAPA website.

The bi-annual college a cappella concerts (fall and spring) are the primary fundraisers for the Creative Arts Parents Association (CAPA), the organization that supports all Wayland High School arts, music and theater programs.
