Wailin’ Wednesdays Concert Series at the Wayland Town Center

Please join us for the 2017 Wailin’ Wednesdays Concert Series at the Wayland Town Center.  The popular concert series returns for its third year; kicks off Wednesday, June 21, 5:30 p.m. at The Wayland Town Center, East Green

The businesses of the Wayland Town Center are proud to once again present Wailin’ Wednesdays, a family-friendly summer concert series which kicks off on Wednesday, June 21 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Wayland Town Center East Green.

This year, the series will be held on three Wednesdays throughout the summer, and feature live music, a variety of activities, giveaways and tasty food samplings courtesy of the Wayland Town Center businesses.

The 2017 lineup is as follows (all dates are Wednesdays):

June 12 The Missy Maxfield Project, A five member cover band based in MetroWest, featuring music ranging from the 60s to present.
July 19 Low Priority, Boston based rock cover band playing all of the rock songs you know and songs that make you want to dance.
August 16 Jumpin’ Juba,West Roxbury based unique mix of blues and roots-y rock & roll, with flavors from many other genres like folk-Americana, Latin, Caribbean, jazz and country.

 

The events are all free and open to the public. The East Green is located in the Wayland Town Center on the grass outside of Sperry’s. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, relax and enjoy a nice night outside with your friends and family. Last year’s events drew a large gathering within our community. Let’s keep the momentum going—join us again this year. The Town Center business owners would like to thank National Development for their financial support of Wailin’ Wednesdays.

Natick Summer Concert Series 

Each summer the Natick Recreation and Parks department, along with local sponsors, put on a free series of concerts on the Natick Common. These performances take place on Monday nights from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.   Cancellations will be posted after 5pm at 508-647-6530

Natick Family Performing Arts SeriesEach summer the Natick Recreation and Parks department, along with local sponsors, put on a free Family Performing Arts Series located on the Natick Common.  These performances take place on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30 PM. In case of rain, performance will be located at TCAN (The Center for Arts in Natick), please call 508-647-6530 after 5:00pm for inclement weather relocating.

Thursday, August 24 ~ Family night begins at 6pm ~~Ilow at Sunset Come out to Bowditch field for a fun-filled family night. Family friendly games and activities will be provided before the movie. This event is FREE to all Framingham residents.

June 14 Ice Cream Social with The Infractions. Get ready to swing, rock and sing. Led by Brian Stratton of Chicago fame, The Infractions covers more than six decades of music from Glen Miller and Duke Ellington to Chicago and the Dave Matthews Band. The band performs swing, Latin, blues, Motown, rock, pop, and recent Top 40 hits. Ice cream and games for the kids will start at 6:00 p.m., and the music starts at 7:00 p.m.  
June 21 Gopherbroke. Gopherbroke has been playing fine acoustic music since 1986. Acknowledging influences from rock and roll, folk and blues, Gopherbroke’s broad and crowd-pleasing repertoire includes songs by Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Tome Petty, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffet, Credence Clearwater Revival, and many more!  
June 28 Specific Gravity.  Although the term “specific gravity” is a scientific term for measuring elements and relative density, in this case, Specific Gravity relates to the elements that make the music and their individual contributions. This band covers multiple genres and bands such as REM, J Geils, Talking Heads, Tom Petty, Weezer, Marcy Playground, Cake, and Prince.
July 5 Bag Boys. Squeezebox Stompers. Playing an array of bluegrass, old time, country-western and classic swing, the Bag Boys have a regular mix of music that can only be described as “pure fun”. Joining us for the first time ever at our summer concert series, the Bag Boys are sure to keep your toes tapping and your hands clapping.  
July 12 Perfect Crime Band. This five piece classic rock band plays a selection of generation-spanning hits. They have a good following of young and old who love to dance and sing along with hits by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Van Morrision, and more.  
July 19 Jazz in the Air. Jazz in the Air has some of the finest musicians in Boston, featuring upbeat refreshing jazz standards with a touch of R&B, Latin, funk and rock. For smooth listening or moving your feet, grace yourself with “Jazz in the Air”.  

 

Wellesley.  Wednesday evenings at 7pm on the Town Hall Green.  Hot dogs, drinks and snacks sold by the Rotary Club.

:

7pm on Thursday evenings at the Memorial Park Gazebo (in case of inclement weather site: Needham High School Auditorium).  Bring dinner, lawn chairs or a blanket, and enjoy the music.  Ample free parking.  Donations are accepted on site to keep concerts free for everyone

Children’s Theatre (1:30pm on Tuesday afternoons at the Eliot Elementary SChool) Afternoon entertainment for children and their families! Donations are accepted on site to keep performances free for everyone!

July 11 Robert Clarke (The Lucky Show).  Boston magician and juggler Robert Clarke will entertain with awesome magic, cool juggling skills, hilarious comedy routines and tons of audience interaction.
July 18 Matt Heaton (Toddlerbilly Troubadour).  Matt Heaton’s songs are a mix of rockabilly, surf, American roots, and Irish traditional music, delivered with a wry sense of humor and a sincere sense of fun.
July 25 Josh & The Jamtones (Acoustic Duo).  Josh & the Jamtones are guaranteed to get crowds moving their bodies, laughing out loud, and singing along, regardless of age, height, shoe size, etc.
August 1 Curious Creatures (Live Animal Show).  A hands-on interactive live animal presentation. Professional exhibitors teach respect and appreciation for exotic and unusual animals, bugs and reptiles.

Whole Foods Market presents the Kiss 108 Summer Movie Series 2017! Bring the whole family, your friends, and even your neighbors together and join us for an outdoor movie night coming to your community! It’s all FREE!
