Tom Antonellis walks for Cancer support services

Join Us for HopeWalks on Sunday, October 1 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital – 2014 Washington Street, Newton, MA

What is HopeWalks? HopeWalks is a 3.5-mile

neighborhood walk to directly benefit cancer patients and their families by supporting the life-enhancing Integrative Support Services offered at the Vernon Cancer Center. These life-enhancing services help patients through treatment and optimize healing and comfort. We want to make these services available to everyone regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.  Visit Tom Antonellis’ page to learn more about his walk and to donate clicking here: http://giving.nwh.org/hopewalks/pfp?tab=0&frsid=6198

Why Tom is walking:

When cancer strikes you or someone you care about, it is like getting hit by a train. Everyone’s life gets turned about. The caring team at the Vernon Cancer Center (from the parking attendant to the front office staff that meet and greet to the medical and support services staff ) make all the comforting difference in the world.

The team has so much care and understanding to not just the patient but they focus on families as well.

Each year we have been involved, between walks I found out about another friend or loved one who was being treated at the Vernon Cancer Center. At least I could tell them from first-hand experience that they and their family were at the right place. This has me sharing with more people how the need for help in funding for support services is as important as research. No matter the prognosis patients and families need help living with cancer and the Vernon is there for them.

Share, give thanks and help others. Many days as I think of the fantastic team at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, I give thanks to them for helping so many people dealing with cancer as a new part of life and hope for a positive outcome for all.

Please help me and “Still a Team” support this very important part of cancer treatment for so many families.

Please join me and show your support.

Tom Antonellis
