HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE
Beginning Sunday, October 15, 2017
As part of our ongoing effort to improve water quality, the Water Division will conduct fire hydrant flushing, beginning on Sunday, October 15, 2017. Flushing will occur in the area of Concord Road north to the Lincoln border. Flushing is anticipated to last approximately 1 week.
Fire Hydrant Flushing will be performed at night between the hours of 10pm and 5am Sunday – Thursday to minimize the impact to our customers. Some customers may experience discolored or “rusty” looking water. The discolored water is caused by naturally occurring iron minerals that disturbed during the flushing process. These non-health threatening minerals may cause staining of laundry and plumbing fixtures.
