“Flu Mist” is NOT be available as the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted last year not to recommend the live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) “nasal spray”. ACIP is a panel of immunization experts that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This ACIP vote is based on data they reviewed that showed poor or relatively lower effectiveness of “flu mist” from 2013-2016. ACIP continues to recommend the inactivated influenza vaccine (injectable) for everyone aged 6 months and older.

Injectable Seasonal Flu Vaccine is available to everyone aged 6mos and older. Limited doses of Pneumococcal, Prevnar and Tdap vaccine is available for those individuals who meet the criteria set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH).
