Democratic Candidates for State Senate to Debate, Tuesday, June 12

The Wayland Democratic Town Committee is co-hosting a debate this coming Tuesday with the three Democratic candidates looking to make their case to the voters as to why they should succeed Republican incumbent Richard Ross as our State Senator: Kris Aleksov, an attorney from Wayland, Jackie Katz, a Wellesley High School teacher from Norfolk, and Becca Rausch, an attorney from Needham.
The debate will be on June 12 from 7:00 – 8:45 PM at the Morse Institute Library, 14 E. Central St., Natick, in the Lebowitz meeting hall on the lower level of the library. The debate will be moderated by MetroWest Daily News editor Anne Brennan.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. The debate is open to the public and Democratic voters in our Norfolk, Bristol, and Middlesex State Senate district are urged to attend. The candidates will spend about an hour responding to questions from the audience. Suggested questions may be submitted at the debate or in advance online at http://www.natickdems.org/2018/06/06/state-senate-debate-at-morse-institute-library-june-12/. Each candidate will also have time for an opening and closing statement.
The winner of the September 4 Primary will run in November against the Republican incumbent Richard Ross of Wrentham for the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex Senate District, which includes all of Wayland and runs south to Attleboro through parts of Natick, Needham, Wellesley and five other towns.
The voter registration deadline for the September 4 Democratic Primary is Wednesday, August 15, at 5:00 PM.
