Residents turn down two other proposals for town meeting
May 26, 2010
Wayland Town Crier 5/26/10: Residents turn down two other proposals for town meeting. The vote to implement electronic voting was successful, but two other proposed changes to Wayland town meeting did not pass on Wednesday night. Resident Mark Greenlaw proposed moving the most important town meeting articles to a ballot vote in order to increase voter participation, a proposal that was defeated 167-90. Besides the "Australian ballot," Town Meeting voters also turned down the chance to post a link to the private website WaylandDebates.org on the town of Wayland’s website. The Electronic Voting proposal was amended to be a free trial, and it passed on a voice vote.
