Children’s author Janet Coleman will be signing copies of her newest book, Eight Dolphins at the Nest on High Street this month. The new book, which was released in August, tells the story of eight captive dolphins washed into the Gulf of Mexico during the catastrophic hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Wayland Town Crier 10/26/12: Kickoff party for Wayland resident's latest novel. Wayland resident Juliette Fay’s third and latest novel, The Shortest Way Home, will be released on Tuesday, October 30 with a kickoff party at Barnes & Noble in Framingham on Route 9 starting at 7pm. The novel is set in the fictional MetroWest town of Belham. With its town beach and nearby Scout House on the shores of Lake Pequot and a watering hole called the Palace (“The Pal” for short), Belham bears more than a passing resemblance to Wayland, where Fay lives with her husband and four children.

Wayland Patchh 8/11/12: Award-Winning Illustrator Aims to 'Captivate' Children's Imaginations. Shennen Bersani lives in Wayland where she visits Starbucks and pays taxes and takes her kids to school. But Bersani also lives in another world – a world of imagination and color and creation. And in that particular world, Bersani is the queen.

Bersani is an award-winning children’s book illustrator who lifts life and story out of text and splashes them across glossy pages using her colored pencils and computer.

And she’s good at it. So good, in fact, that her most recent book for Sylvan Dell Publishing, Home in the Cave authored by Janet Halfmann, was recently recognized with a gold Gelett Burgess Children’s Book Award in the "growing up" category.
