Twenty Wayland gets key sewer permit

Wayland Town Crier 6/9/11: Twenty Wayland gets key sewer permit . The developer of a retail and housing project in the center of town has received a key state permit, and builders and town officials say work could begin as soon as next month. The state Department of Environmental Protection gave approval this week to developer Twenty Wayland to discharge up to 45,000 gallons of wastewater per day from the proposed Wayland Town Center project to the town's new treatment facility, due to be completed in early 2012.

MassDEP Issues Permit for Wayland Town Center Sewer Connection

Wayland Patch 6/8/11: MassDEP Issues Permit for Wayland Town Center Sewer Connection. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has approved the sewer connection permit Twenty Wayland requested in order to move forward with the Wayland Town Center project. The permit allows for a total discharge from the Town Center of 45,000 gallons per day to Wayland’s wastewater treatment plant, which is permitted to treat 52,000 gpd. Phase I of construction is permitted at 28,000 gpd, and the additional 17,000 gallons are part of Phase II. As part of the Town Center project, Twenty Wayland will construct a sewage pump station, which will eventually be owned and operated by the Town of Wayland, to move the sewage to the treatment plant.

Final Town Center permit issued

Mass DEP 6/7/11:   Mass DEP issues Permit for Town Center sewer connection permit. They also issued these responses to comments to public questions prior to and at the May 19 DEP Public Hearing.  This was the final permit needed to enable the Town Center project to proceed, and developer Twenty Wayland intends to commence the project in July.

DEP decision on Town Center project expected soon

Wayland Town Crier 5/26/11: DEP decision on Town Center project expected soon. An overflow crowd filled the Large Meeting Room of the Wayland Town Building last week to give testimony to two representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regarding the application for a sewer connection submitted by Twenty Wayland in connection with the long-pending Town Center project. The permit would allow the proposed development to link up to the new wastewater treatment facility now under construction on the former Raytheon property. The new plant will have a capacity of 52,000 gallons per day.
