Wayland Gaelic Football Club impresses at championships

Wayland Town Crier 8/11/11: Wayland Gaelic Football Club impresses at championships. The Wayland Gaelic Football Club was a rookie entrant into the 2011 Continental Youth Championships (CYC) this past weekend in Canton. Almost 2,500 players ages 6 to 18 competed from as far away as Lancashire, England, Northern Ireland, Canada, and all parts of the U.S. (as far away as San Diego, Calif.). Mike Moynihan is the New England games development administrator, as well as being a teacher at Happy Hollow School in Wayland. “I love introducing the games to children during recess and lunch,” Moynihan said. “This spring, I had enough players to start two boys teams, and girls willing to align with other Boston-based teams. Our summer practices were limited, due to weather. Thanks to all from Wayland, Acton and Natick who committed for the CYC Tournament.”
