Wayland Patch 8/8/12: Health Department, DEP Inspect, Approve Claypit Compost Program. July 17 was an important day for Claypit Hill School and the Wayland Schools Green Team. That day, the school's composting system was inspected by the Wayland Health Department and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

Wayland Patch 6/5/12: Wayland Goes … Blue?. Many of Wayland's public spaces and ball fields are showing some new colors. Blue, to be exact, in the form of a new recycling bin next to the existing green trash bins. The new bins have replaced the old "buddy bins," the wire mesh containers for bottles and cans that former middle schoool teacher Pat Conaway installed and has been emptying for the past couple of years.

Wayland Patch 5/4/12: Earth Day Fair Offers Something for Everyone. Passionate environmentalists and curious community members alike came out to the courtyard of the Wayland Town Building April 29 for the third annual Earth Day fair sponsored by the Wayland Green Team and Transition Wayland. Event organizers estimate that about 400 people mingled in the courtyard on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, making this year's fair better attended than the past two years combined.
