Wayland Town Crier 1/2/12: Wayland resident finds value in time bank. Judy Bennett was unemployed. An architect by trade, it would take the Wayland resident more than a year to find a new job. “I was out of work for 13 months. It was pretty difficult,” she recalled. “I had lots of time and not a lot of money.” So Bennett decided to join a time bank. Not just to save a few dollars. She did it on the insistence of a friend. “A friend from Woodstock, N.Y. was really into it,” she said. “She was telling me several times. I knew there was one in Cambridge. I thought you had to be local. I joined when I was unemployed.” Since that day in late 2009, Bennett’s life changed. Not only has she provided and received a range of services, but has also met many new friends.
