WayCo Donates to Five Wayland Groups

Wayland – WayCo Amateur Sports Development, Inc., (WASD) whose cornerstone program is the WayCo Softball League, is pleased to announce its recent charitable donations. Five organizations were chosen for this year’s donations. They are: the Daniel G. Burgess Memorial Scholarship at Wayland High School, St. Zepherin’s Parish Youth Ministry Program, Parmenter Food Pantry, Wayland High School Boys Football Program, and Wayland High School Boys Basketball Program.

“We are very pleased to help all five of these groups,” said Connie Burgess, WASD Treasurer. “In addition to collecting food donations for Parmenter’s Food Pantry, we decided to add a monetary donation so families in need can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and meats at local grocery stores.”

WASD is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation whose mission as stated in its Articles of Organization includes “the promotion and advancement of recreational and amateur sports in the Wayland community.” In addition, its activities have as a goal “to provide for the character development and sportsmanship of young men, women, high school athletes, and children.”
