Metrowest Daily News 1/2/09:State has money for school projects… for now. While other areas of state government struggle mightily for funding, the Massachusetts School Building Authority has money set aside to pay for school projects, but like all good things, this will not go on forever. The MSBA receivesone cent from the five-cent state sales tax, Sullivan said, but projections show sales tax revenue headed down. When the MSBA was created, sales tax revenue was projected to grow 4.5 percent a year, but in reality it was more like 1 percent a year. For fiscal 2010, Sullivan said, sales tax is expected to decline by 5 percent.
