Inside look at debt exclusion ballot questions

Wayland Town Crier 4/2/09: Inside look at debt exclusion ballot questions. The chairwoman of the High School Building Committee (HBSC) assured a standing-room only crowd at Candidates Night that approval of a ballot question for a High School design study will not result in a “Taj Mahal,” but instead a no-frills project that will be carefully reviewed by the state and vetted by the public. Question 1 will request approval of a feasibility and schematic design for a new High School building. The five bundled debt exclusion items in Question 2 total $1.08 million in the capital budget and include repairs to school buildings at $120,000 and town buildings at $495,000, a new ambulance and Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment at $240,000, full list and measure assessing tools at $200,000, and playing fields renovation at $25,000.
