Board of Selectmen Meeting, Monday, June 22

The Board of Selectmen is meeting in executive session with the School Committee, Finance Committee, and Personnel Board to discuss strategy related to collective bargaining on Monday, June 22nd at 6:30pm in the School Committee Room.

The public portion of the meeting will begin in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room at 8pm.  The Board of Selectmen will meet beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Monday (June 22nd) evening to discuss and act on a full agenda:

*    Selectmen will interview candidates for reappointment to the Finance Committee, Conservation Commission and Historic District Commission and later in the evening consider appointments to these committees and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

*    The Historic District Commission will provide an update on discussions with MassHighway regarding the idea of deferring certain traffic improvements for the Town Center development until the second half of the commercial space is built.  Selectmen will report on preliminary discussions with the Glezen Lane plaintiffs and other entities whose concurrence will be necessary to phase the traffic improvements.

*    Members of the Septage Committee and committee counsel will review with the Board recommended language changes to the proposed administrative consent order by MassDEP to be negotiated.

*    Selectmen will discuss proposed recommendations to be incorporated into a report to Town Meeting in the fall relative to motions to be made under the traditional article recognizing citizens for extensive service to the town.

*    Town Administrator Fred Turkington will update selectmen on the impact of the state budget and implementation bill adopted by the legislature today (Friday, June 19).

The meeting will be held in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room in Wayland Town Building.

Note:  The Board of Selectmen have set a tentative meeting schedule for the summer months to accommodate vacation schedules, holidays, and deadlines for town business.  Note the Board of Selectmen will meet the following dates in July and August:

Monday, July 20

Thursday, July 30

Monday, August 17

Monday, August 31

No meeting is scheduled on Monday, June 29th.  The schedule will be adjusted as appropriate.
