When Veterans Committee Chairman Jim Burkley and Public Ceremonies Chairman Richard Turner looked at the bench behind the Memorial Garden, they shared a vision of how a small garden in the bench area could be integrated with the memorial, adding both beauty as well as a place of rest for visitors.
