Bay State Battered By More Rain, Deluge Continues

WCVB 3/29/10: Bay State Battered By More Rain, Deluge Continues. Roads were closed near the Sudbury River in Wayland, Mass., west of Boston, where major flooding was expected. At Saxonville, officials were looking at some of the highest water levels since 1987. The Charles River in Dover and the Assabet in Sudbury were all expected to set record flood levels by afternoon, each rising 4 to 5 feet. Wayland residents were given formal evacuation notices Monday night, with police going door-to-door to alert Pelham Island residents that they may have to leave their homes as the river rises. The town has been struggling with flooding all month. "First we had the boat and then we had the school bus taking us back and forth," said one elderly resident.
