Wayland Democrats will hold Caucus to Select 2012 Convention Delegates on February 25 at 1:00 pm at The Wayland Public Safety Building 

Democrats in Wayland will hold a caucus on February 25th at 1:00 pm at the Wayland Public Safety Building located at 38 Cochituate Road to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party's 2012 nominating convention.  

All registered Democrats in Wayland are eligible and encouraged to participate. Doors open at 12:30. You must be in the caucus sign-up line by 1:15 pm.  The caucus is also open to the press. Please contact Michael Gilbreath, Caucus Chair, at 508-942-8095 with any questions.

Democratic candidates for local representative, as well as representatives for the candidates for the U.S. Senate nomination will be present to collect signatures. 

Caucus participants will elect 9 delegates and 3 alternates to the 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Elected delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Those not elected as Delegate or Alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority, and disabled. 

Following completion of the caucus business, and a short break, a regular meeting of the Wayland Democratic Town Committee will be convened.  

The 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Party Convention will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, where Wayland delegates will join other delegates from across the state to nominate candidates for the 2012 U.S. Senate Democratic Primary.

BACKGROUND:  Elected delegates to the 2012 Massachusetts Democratic Party nominating convention will join other delegates from across the state to select candidates to compete for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. That convention will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield.
