In economically difficult times, the public library is more essential than ever. Library use and circulation figures have risen steadily over the last nine years. Library use continues to rise, even in the Internet age. Professional reference librarians know how to cull the overload of information available for the information you truly need. The Wayland Public Library is a particularly stellar community resource. Excellent staff, varied collections, Metrowest Regional Library resources, and accessible hours all contribute to a wonderful town asset.
“Strong libraries are essential for education and lifelong learning, for economic development, for strong communities and for a strong democracy.” (MBLC)
I am a regular library patron and have served on the Friends of the Wayland Library, the Library Director Search Committee, the Library Feasibility Study Committee, and the Wayland Reads Committee. I believe my personal enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, the Wayland Public Library will help me serve effectively as a member of the Board of Library Trustees. I would appreciate your vote on April 7th.
