Honoring a great Wayland woman

Wayland Town Crier 3/5/09: Honoring a great Wayland woman. Lydia Maria Child, a 19th century reformer, writer and abolitionist, spent most of the last 27 years of her life living in Wayland. Though many have not heard of her, she was certainly one of Wayland’s most prominent residents. She is best known for her poem “Over the River and Through the Woods”. This Sunday at 2pm, Jane Sciacca, president of the Wayland Historical Society, will speak at the Grout-Heard House on the woman and her legacy.
