Conservation Commission Reviewing Dog Regulations on Conservation Lands

The Wayland Conservation Commission has been reviewing the use of Conservation lands in other towns particularly as the regulations relate to dogs on these properties. Several different approaches have been noted. Many complaints have been received by the Commission about multiple dogs running off leash. Some residents want to use these lands for purposes other than canine exercise, such as walking small children, birding, quiet reflection and the simple enjoyment of all facets of nature.

The Commission is endeavoring to find a combination of regulation options that will enable Wayland Conservation lands to be enjoyed and shared by all. A survey of several options has been posted at www.WaylandeNews.com and interested citizens are invited to post their views on this website.

Interested citizens also are invited to attend the March 24th meeting of the Conservation Commission when a public hearing will be held on the subject. Paper copies of the survey  will be available at that hearing.
