Alert Message-H1N1 Mist (Intranasal) Healthy Student Vaccination Clinic Planned
400 doses of mist available.  First come first serve

WHEN:   Wednesday December 2, 2-4pm
WHERE: Town Building                                

WHO: This clinic (MIST ONLY) is for healthy children only (NO HISTORY of Asthma, wheezing, or any underlying health issue). AGES- ages 2-18.
 
If you have already filled in a form and sent it in to your school nurse, the Board of Health has the forms and they will be available on this date if you choose to attend.

STUDENTS WITH CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUES WHO CAN NOT TAKE FLU-MIST AND REQUIRE AN INJECTION OF INACTIVATED H1N1 WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN INJECTABLE VACCINE BECOMES AVAILABLE FOR ANY OF THE WEDNESDAY CLINICS.
 
TO DOCUMENT CHRONIC DISEASE STATUS, YOU OR YOUR CHILD MUST HAVE THEIR CURRENT PRESCRIPTION INHALER/MED WITH THEM OR BE PREVIOUSLY KNOWN TO THE SCHOOL HEALTH RN AS HAVING A CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUE.

FUTURE VACCINE CLINICS– H1N1 vaccination clinics for children each Wednesday with whatever vaccine allotment has been provided to us within that week.

SECOND DOSES– APART FROM CHILDREN OR ADULTS WITH CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUES, ONLY WHEN SUFFICIENT SUPPLIES EXIST, AND MOST RESIDENTS HAVE RECEIVED AT LEAST ONE DOSE, WILL SECOND DOSES BE OFFERRED. 

 
BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE WILD H1N1 DISEASE WITHIN FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY, CHECK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN AS TO WHETHER THEY ARE STILL RECOMMENDING A SECOND DOSE.
 
Middle and High School students will most likely be offered their needed 1 dose of H1N1 vaccine within their school setting at a future date to still be planned. You are encouraged to send your consent forms into your school nurse.

If you have questions that are specific to your child then you must follow up with your child’s doctor as we cannot answer student specific questions.
