The Weston Friendly Society closes its 125th Anniversary Season in mid-April by bringing one of musical theater’s masterpieces, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel, to the Weston stage. In 1999, Time magazine named Carousel the Best Musical of the 20th century, writing that Rodgers and Hammerstein “set the standards for the 20th century musical.” With a moving and dramatic storyline and hit songs like “If I Loved You,” “June is Bustin’ Out All Over,” and the timeless “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” it is easy to understand why the show received this distinction.
