Celebrate your Historic Home! Get a Wayland Historical Commission Plaque!

Now that spring has come, and our thoughts turn to outside projects, the Wayland Historical Commission is encouraging homeowners to apply for WHC plaques for their historic homes. The goal of this program is to highlight the long and varied architectural history of Wayland and to remind residents and visitors of the town’s heritage. Qualifying homes would be 100 years old or older or have a special historic or architectural significance. There is no obligation to maintain the house’s appearance once a Plaque is granted, nor any requirement that future changes be reviewed, however the Commission hopes that the building’s integrity will be maintained. The date of construction and an historic name have been identified for many historic properties included in the historic resource survey maintained by the Wayland Historical Commission. If you have a historic Wayland home, celebrate and apply today! Contact Elisa Scola or Siobhan Zane.
