The Stretch Code is the appendix to the Massachusetts building code, and is designed to ensure that future buildings in the state will be more energy efficient. At this fall’s special Town Meeting, Wayland residents will have the chance to significantly reduce the town’s, and potentially their own, future energy use, utility costs and greenhouse gas emissions by adopting the Stretch Energy Building Code. This Wednesday, June 9 at 7pm, the town of Wayland and the Wayland Energy Initiatives Advisory Group will sponsor a public forum on the proposed Stretch Code in the Large Hearing Room of the Town Building.
