Wayland TM puts off decision on septage facility

Wayland Town Crier 11/17/10: Wayland TM puts off decision on septage facility. Residents at special Town Meeting last night decided they needed more time to consider the benefits of the town buying out Sudbury's interest in the jointly owned septage facility on Rte. 20. Article 6 asked for $129,618 to purchase Sudbury's interest in the building, which is on a 7.6-acre property owned by Wayland. A motion from the floor to pass over the article passed on a voice vote. The vote marks a second setback for town officials, who brought the same request to voters at annual Town Meeting in May. The facility was permanently closed in December 2009. A similar article was presented at Sudbury's Town Meeting in April, and residents agreed to sell the town's interest to Wayland.

A summary of results from the Town is available here.
