December 13 meeting of the Board of Selectmen to start at 7:40pm

The next meeting of the Board of Selectmen will be held on Monday, December 13 in Town Building.

After receiving public comment, Selectmen will hear a presentation of the requested five-year capital improvement plan submitted to the Finance Committee by Facilities Director John Moynihan and Town Administrator Fred Turkington.  The presentation will include an overview of capital equipment, infrastructure projects, and long-range facilities proposed by various departments and committees.  The Finance Committee will review the plan over a series of meetings ending on January 10, 2011.

At 7:45 p.m., the Board will meet with members of the Wastewater Management District Commission.  The WWMDC has requested to meet to review governance structure, and staff will update both boards on the status of the land swap agreement and the construction schedule for the wastewater treatment facility.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Selectmen will meet with Town Moderator Peter Gossels and Assistant to the Moderator Dennis Berry to discuss issues related to the 2011 Annual Town Meeting.  Implementation issues and logistics resulting from the electronic voting system demonstration project will be reviewed, with a report from David Bernstein, chair of the Town Meeting electronic voting implementation sub-committee.  Discussion will continue on whether to institute a consent calendar at this town meeting.  Selectmen are expected to formally vote the schedule for Annual Town Meeting on December 20.

After considering the consent calendar and reviewing correspondence, the Board will review and approve renewal licenses for automotive dealers and establishments selling liquor for 2011 and hear Selectmen’s reports and concerns.  Later in the evening, the Board will hear the weekly report of the Town Administrator and preview agenda topics for the next several meetings through mid-February 2011.

UPDATE:  The meeting will begin at 7:40pm in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room.
