SOAR 55 offers training for volunteers interested in nonprofit management consulting

SOAR 55, Service Opportunities After Reaching 55, a program of Newton Community Service Center, is currently accepting applications from volunteers age 55 and over for the spring training of the award-winning SOAR 55 Nonprofit Management Consulting Program, generously funded by the Tufts Health Plan Foundation.
 
SOAR 55 is seeking former and current (part-time) executives/professionals with consulting experience and expertise in any of the following areas: management, marketing, strategic planning, fundraising/development, program/project development or related fields.  Qualified volunteers undergo a comprehensive training program, after which they are placed in teams of 2 or 3 consultants to help local nonprofits with assignments (lasting from 6 to 9 months) including strategic plans, business/program plans, marketing and outreach plans and needs assessments in Newton and MetroWest.
