Wayland Police Department Announces appointment of Officer Hebert

Chief Robert Irving is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark R. Hebert as a police officer with the Wayland Police Department.   Officer Hebert most recently served as a dispatcher with the Wayland Joint Communications Center and was a member of the Wayland Police Auxiliary. He was previously employed by Pendum LLC as an armored ATM Specialist. 

Officer Hebert graduated from the Plymouth Police Academy on April 8th.    Raised in Wayland, Officer Hebert attended Wayland Public Schools and was a captain on the Wayland High School football team. He has since earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from MassBay Community College.
 
A swearing in ceremony will take place at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting prior to Town Meeting on Sunday, April 10th. Officer Hebert will take the Oath of Office from Wayland Town Clerk, Lois Toombs.
 
The hiring of Officer Hebert brings the overall strength of the department to twenty sworn officers.   
 
Officer Hebert resides in Marlborough with his wife Ashley and two sons, Liam and Ryan.
