One of twelve establishments fails alcohol compliance check

Wayland Police Department Press Release 4/22/11: On Tuesday, April 19, 2011, the Wayland Police Department conducted undercover alcohol compliance checks of local businesses/establishments that sell alcohol/liquor. Two nineteen (19) year old youths were sent into establishments with instructions to attempt to purchase alcohol without showing any identification.

One of the twelve establishments checked, sold alcohol to the underage youths. Viva Mexican Grill y Tequileri, 15 East Plain Street failed the compliance checks and served the underage individuals alcohol. This establishment will be referred to the Board of Selectman for a Liquor Violation Hearing.

The Wayland Police Department regularly conducts compliance checks at local businesses in an effort to reduce the underage consumption of alcohol.
