Wayland Town Crier 7/5/11: Wayland superintendent comments on ‘horrific’ slaying of Lauren Astley – Wayland, MA – Wicked Local Wayland. In only his second day on the job, Wayland School Superintendent Paul Stein spoke to the press this morning about the tragic death of a recent WHS graduate and the arraignment today of a classmate in her killing.

“This is a horrific and chilling turn of events that will deeply affect everyone in this community,” Stein said of the slaying of Lauren Astley, 18, of Wayland, whose body was found in a marsh off Rte. 27 in town Monday morning. “This event may rock our sense of security and safety.”
