Wayland Historical Commission seeking return of siding boards

Wayland Town Crier 11/17/11: Wayland Historical Commission seeking return of siding boards. About Oct. 18, 2011, some old 9-inch wide siding boards from the Wayland Freight House that were on a pile were salvaged by someone. About five or six of these boards had historic markings on the inside and were intended to be preserved. The Wayland Historical Commission would like to have these boards returned. Please contact Rick Conard at 508-358-4597 or by email. No questions will be asked, we just want to have the boards returned. We believe the person who salvaged them thought they would be thrown away, and these boards may now be stored in someone’s shed, garage or attic. Improvements to preserve and stabilize this historic railroad freight house built in 1881 are being funded by the town’s Community Preservation Act (CPA) fund.
