Timebank exhibit on display at Wayland Town Building

Wayland Town Crier 12/4/11: Timebank exhibit on display at Wayland Town Building. A Timebank exhibit will be shown in the Wayland Town Building for the month of December, and into early January. This exhibit will give a brief history of timebanking – when it began, where there are timebanks, both worldwide and in the U.S., and why you might want to join a local timebank. Timebanking is simply about spending an hour doing something you like for somebody in your community who needs it. That hour goes into your timebank account, and you then can spend it having someone do something for you. Several local residents are finding wonderful benefits from timebanking and connecting with their community. The local timebank is called TimeTradeCircle, and there is a fast growing membership in MetroWest. The exhibit opened on December 5. Come join us at a reception on Wednesday, December 7 from 7-9pm at Wayland Town Building, and talk to friends and neighbors who are really benefitting from the timebank, and having a lot of fun. There will be great food and live music. To find out more about the local timebank, send an email, visit their Facebook group, or websitego or call 617-299-0882. There will be an orientation meeting in early January at the Wayland Library.
