Intel-OARS Innovation Workshop, Thursday May 3

Intel-OARS Innovation Workshop to be held on Thursday, May 3 from 6-9 pm

Innovation is vital to our quality of life.  High school students – You are the innovators of the future!  Intel and OARS have teamed up to offer an exciting hands-on workshop that provides clear examples of innovation and a chance to experience the transformation of ideas into solutions. The workshop will focus on applying innovative ideas to solving real environmental challenges in the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord River Watersheds.

The same principles can be applied to problem-solving in general, a skill valued for college applications and career development.  The workshop also prepares students interested in entering the 2012/13 Intel-OARS Environmental Innovators Contest.  Students participating in a workshop held in 2011 had this to say: “The workshop was interesting and kept everyone involved and thinking.” “I liked the group activity part of the workshop because we had the opportunity to exchange ideas.”  The Innovation Workshop was created and will be taught by professional innovators.

Location:  Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, 680 Hudson Road, Sudbury
Registration:  You must register by Thursday, April 26 by emailing education@oars3rivers.org or call 978-369-3956.  We will be serving a light pizza supper.  Space is limited.
This workshop is free and open to all grade 9-12 students in the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord watersheds (from Westborough to Lowell).  For more details, visit www.oars3rivers.org.
